It may be winter out there, but don’t be defeated by the burdening chore of trying to find the ultimate wedding guest ensemble. We get it - it’s bad enough having to decide on something suitable in the summer, let alone in colder conditions when there are so many more factors to consider. Take it from us, when choosing your perfect plus one, it’s important to go for something that’s completely and utterly fabulous, but at the same time is going to keep you from frostbite throughout the church ceremony

First things first - steer clear of anything ‘mini’, even if your using the occasion as a last-ditch attempt to get your perfectly tanned pins out from a recent winter escape. It’s not worth it! Opt for elongated lengths in every way, shape or form, whether that be a long sleeve or a midi/maxi length dress.

The next step is to look for something with a fabric that is slightly weightier… heavy fabrics often get a bad reputation for adding an additional layer on top of any extra winter weight that we may be carrying (we’re all guilty of it!). But, not if it’s done properly, girls. Velvet is a life saviour; this opulent fabric glides over any lumps and bumps, whilst adding texture for a fashion forward feel.

Now, colour can always be a tricky one. Whilst you may not want to go as bright as you did throughout the summer months, you can still dabble in colour by opting for vibrant, berry hues such as red, burgundy and pinks. Saying that, black is a failsafe and a stylish alternative if you’re struggling to find a colourful, wedding worthy piece – especially when you combine two luxe fabrics.

Last but by no means least, don’t forget your sparkle. Embellished and metallic shoes are huge this season, which can be the perfect way to add a touch of glam to any wedding-wear. If diamonds aren’t your best friend, then let a red lip finish off your look for you.
